It has come to our attention that some residents are under the mistaken impression that a left turn on Hwy 17 at the U-turn intersections is "legal". After checking with the DOT resident engineer (251 2691) and HP Sergent King (910 296 1311, they both informed us that the State of NC does NOT allow left hand turns on Red under any circumstances. We urge everyone to pass this information to all residents to prevent any further accidents or injuries.

Given the current situation with economic and insurance reform, I don't think it's that bad for the amount of jobs it is creating. I realize they might be short lived but it is helping many people get back on their feet for the time being.

Construction is seemingly an endless job. We often take for granted that we are inconvenienced so we don't gripe about lack of care. We're such a terrible society sometimes! Let's focus on the positive!
